NANCY MACDONALD-DUNCAN
Nancy brings over 20 years of experience in fire service management and advisory roles, with deep expertise in strategic planning, risk assessment, budgeting, and fire code enforcement. Her career includes leadership positions such as Chief Fire Prevention Officer, Deputy Chief, and roles with the Office of the Fire Marshal, where she recently served as Director / Deputy Fire Marshal – Fire Investigations.
Nancy also played a key role in the development of the Mississauga Fire Master Plan and the city's first comprehensive risk assessment, which helped shape Ontario’s community risk assessment framework. Her work emphasizes the use of legislation to build and sustain fire-safe communities.
She has published articles in the Ontario Fire Service Messenger and has been recognized with awards for leadership, fire protection, and public service. Nancy has also contributed to provincial advisory groups, collaborating with ministries, municipalities, and organizations to advance fire safety initiatives.
