CLARK ESLER

Clark’s career in emergency management has spanned 38 years in both the private and public sectors, and most notably 33 years of continuous service at Suncor Energy. Clark’s decades of experience responding to emergency incidents, managing teams of emergency responders, and implementing business continuity standards is a testament to his leadership abilities and industry knowledge.

In 2008, Clark took on the role of Fire Chief of Emergency Services for Suncor’s northern Alberta facilities, overseeing a team of over 100 members across five firehalls delivering services in fire prevention, risk assessment, industrial-site firefighting, and medical response.

Clark’s most recent role at Suncor was Senior Emergency & Business Continuity Management Specialist at Suncor’s head office in Calgary. In this role, he led a team that developed and implemented a company-wide emergency and business continuity program that aligned with CSA, NFPA, and ICS standards.

Clark was also President of the Alberta Industrial Fire & Emergency Management Association (AIFEMA) from 2012 to 2017 and continues to be an active member of regional emergency management community associations.
